EatDrinkFestival 2023: A Comprehensive Guide for Vendors

As we eagerly approach the much-anticipated EatDrinkFestival 2023, scheduled for December 27th and 28th at the TBS Cricket Ground Lagos, it's imperative for interested vendors to familiarize themselves with the festival's guidelines and procedures. The following details provide a comprehensive insight into what you, as a vendor, need to know to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience.

Application and Registration

To begin your journey as a vendor at the festival, start by thoroughly reading and understanding this blog post. Agreement with all terms is essential. The next step involves completing an online application, which can be found here. Please note that the EatDrinkFestival team will review applications, and successful vendors will be notified via email. Remember, the deadline for vendor registration is the stroke of 11 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2023.

Who Can Apply?

The festival is on the lookout for a handpicked selection of Lagos' finest food and drink vendors. If you specialize in freshly prepared food and drinks or have a passion for locally grown farm-fresh produce, this is your call. However, bear in mind that you can only showcase items in one category, be it Food, Drinks, Desserts, Snacks, or Farmer’s Market. The festival celebrates culinary diversity, so menus that reflect the unique character of your establishment are highly encouraged.

Vendor Categories and Limitations

EatDrinkFestival 2023 is set to host an exclusive set of 45 vendors each day, distributed across various categories including Food, Snacks, Sweets, and Drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), as well as a Farmer’s Market. It is important to note that only vendors in the Drink category are permitted to sell beverages, and the sale of bottled drinking water is strictly prohibited.

  • Food (various cuisines)

  • Snacks (pies, popcorn, etc.)

  • Sweets (ice cream, cakes, etc.)

  • Drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic)

  • Farmer’s Market (local produce)

Participation Fee and Provisions

The participation fee for all categories is set at N50,000. The festival team provides each vendor with a 10’x10’ tent, two tables, three chairs, a large format menu and vendor sign, a handheld device, and an electricity outlet. This setup is designed to help you focus on what you do best – serving delicious fare to festival attendees.

Menu Guidelines

As part of your application, you'll need to submit a proposed menu. Food vendors are advised to have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 items, while other categories (except Farmer’s Market) can have up to 10 items. The festival encourages the introduction of new items to maintain diversity, although one signature item from your regular store or online shop is allowed.

Payment Processing

In keeping with the times, EatDrinkFestival 2023 is a cashless event. The festival team will handle all payment processing, and vendors will receive payments within 3 business days post-event. It's worth noting that there will be a 2% transaction processing fee for all payments.

Preparing for the Festival

Allocation of vendor booths is at the discretion of the Vendor Coordinator, and a mandatory vendor meeting will be held before the festival to discuss important information. Large vendor items can be dropped off a day prior to the event, with specific times allocated for setup.

Post-Event Procedures and Vendor Conduct

After the event, ensure to have your stand inspected by festival staff and return the handheld device provided to you. Vendors are expected to maintain a clean, organized, and respectful display, adhering to high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Waste Management and Marketing

Vendors are responsible for managing their own waste and must leave their space clean. The festival also offers a unique marketing opportunity, encouraging vendors to bring business cards and other marketing materials to connect with customers.

Liability and Cancellations

Please be aware that The EatDrink Media Company and Eat.Drink.Lagos are not liable for any damages or lost profits. Vendors are encouraged to have their own property insurance. Cancellations are accepted until December 14, 2023, for a full refund.

In conclusion, your participation in EatDrinkFestival 2023 is not just about showcasing your culinary skills but also about creating an experience that festival-goers will remember. We hope this guide helps you prepare effectively for what promises to be an exciting event. See you at the festival! 🎉🍴🥂
