EDL Picks: 3 New Restaurants to Try on the Mainland

We’re still a long way from proper, fair representation of Mainland cuisine in the Lagos food space, but we’re getting there — one post, one Reel, one recommendation at a time.

Our freshly-resident foodie, Tolu recently popped into a few new restaurants on the Mainland, based on some of these lovely recommendations: Amber Restaurant & Lounge, Safron Rooftop Bar & Grill and Hot Crust Cafe. There were a number of highs and a few lows, but eating through the struggle is what we do all day, every day.

So, here it is. Bookmark this post!

#1 Amber Restaurant & Lounge

Where: 3 Billings Way, Oregun, Ikeja

PRICE RANGE: n10000 - n20000

Tolu: “I love Amber’s space; it’s so beautiful. Their customer service was great, the food and drinks were amazing, and more importantly, affordable. I definitely recommend.”

#2 Safron Rooftop Bar & Grill

where: 57 Joel Ogunnaike Street, Ikeja GRA

PRICE RANGE: n10000 - n30000

“It’s a gorgeously lit place; the space is beautiful and there’s a view — which, on the Mainland, we never have! The food and drinks were good, as well. Definitely a top 2 for me.”

#3 HOT CRUST CAFE

where: Alpha Mall, 117 Ogudu Road, Ogudu

PRICE RANGE: n5000 - n15000

“I didn’t really love my experience here. The food was basic, to me; they didn’t have the drink I wanted, so I ended up without a drink.”

Something all three places have in common, Tolu shared, is that your bill doesn’t come with a VAT charge because it’s included in the total bill — which, really, is a breath of fresh air. #MainlandWins
