Valentine’s Day 2023: 11 Lagos Restaurants Offering V-Day Specials

Is it just me or did Valentine's Day seem to arrive sooner this year?

The “God when” and “God abeg” moments are about to be unleashed in full force. For the lover boys and girls who always carry Overraw Best in Romance and Planning plaques on their heads, there’s no panic whatsoever. But for those of you who are frantically searching the interweb for the perfect place to celebrate at the last minute, we're here to help.

Singles, don't worry, there are options for you too.

Below is a list of Lagos restaurants offering Valentine's packages to suit various budgets. Please note that we can't vouch for all of these, but they're worth knowing about nonetheless.

ON the island

Gaby Lagos

where: 6A Agoro Odiyan street, Victoria Island

If you’re in the mood for a fine dining adventure this Valentine’s, Gaby Lagos is hosting a dinner featuring a 5-course tasting menu showcasing 5 Aphrodisiacs — definitely a mood-setter for the night 👀

“An Ode to Aphrodite” costs N100k for singles and N200k for couples. Looks like they’re championing the Single Lives Matter cause because they really said no discounts for couples — love it! Also, the package comes with fine wine pairings for four of the courses, so it’s not entirely daylight robbery, don’t worry.

where: 256 Etim Inyang Crescent, Victoria Island

Gusto is offering a 3-course set menu for couples, featuring delicious options like steak, sushi, and, let's face it, pasta for the Lagos babes (because we're not debunking that stereotype anytime soon). The N100,000 package also comes with a bottle of Prosecco and a "surprise" performance. 🎶

where: 5 Adeola Hopewell, Victoria Island

Lagos’s first and only 2D/3D restaurant is hosting a “Love in a Comic Book” Valentine’s special for couples. The 65k package features a “Love Platter”, complimentary wine and dessert. P.S. — you can take some crayons with you and colour in the tables and walls.

Also P.S. — if they throw you out, you’re on your own dear 🙏🏽

where: 1637 Adetokunbo Ademola, Victoria Island

Turaka has a whole line-up planned for Valentine’s week that you can jump on ASAP.

You can start with a singles-only Glow in the Dark Party on Friday night (perhaps the plan is for you to meet your soulmate there and be a couple by Tuesday 👀). Saturday is a Games Night, Sunday is a DJ Request Show, and on the big day, there will be a 3-course romantic dinner featuring their special Valentine's menu. Don't forget to visit the photo booth to capture those sweet moments. 💕

The Shed

where: 1 Wole Olateju Crescent, Off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase I

If you're a Lekki resident and you want to avoid the notorious Lekki-VI traffic this Valentine's Day, The Shed is a great option. You can enjoy a five-course fine dining experience for N140,000 per couple. The package also includes complimentary red roses and chocolates, so you don't have to worry if you forgot to add that special touch.

ON the MAINland

If you’re looking for somewhere fresh to impress your S.O., you should definitely try Elysium. They literally just opened this month and they look quite promising.

Their Valentine’s package includes a meat option for N70k per head, a chicken option for 55k per head and a seafood option for 60k per head — all part of a 4-course meal, with a glass of wine and a red rose for the ladies.

where: 6 Thomas Ajufo Street off Opebi Road, Ikeja

You and your lover, friend group, family or just you alone can enjoy a 3-course meal with some live music to set the ambience for just N20k per head at The Grid. There’ll be a photo booth and live music as well, so if any of those are your things, YAY.

Oeuvre Bistro

where: Ogudu Mall, Ogudu Road

Oeuvre Bistro has N30k and N45k packages for couples and a very reasonable N100k package for families — or just a group of friends. The Valentine’s menu isn’t entirely fixed, so you’re welcome to choose from the variety of options on their regular menu.

This Valentine’s, you can celebrate “Love & Culture” at this Afrocentric Mainland spot — whether you’re enjoying V-Day alone, coupled up or looking for a good night out with friends.

Their packages range from N35k for singles to N120k for a group of 6, and feature everything from 3-course meals to complimentary meals and movie tickets for their in-house cinema. And oh, there’s live music and a runway exhibition too.

where: White Stone Events Palace, 3 Billings Way, Oregun Ikeja

Amber Lagos is another restaurant offering dinner, live music and a romantic atmosphere. The packages range from N55k—N150k. Plus, get this, there’s a kissing booth which should definitely… be… interesting.

Grey’s by Portions

where: Bariga Waterfront Jetty, Ilaje

Grey’s by Portions is offering a rather pocket-friendly and fun Valentine’s package for couples, including a 3-course meal, karaoke, painting and games.

It costs 35k for early birds and 40k for late payments, so make that reservation ASAP. P.S. — the waterfront just outside is a pretty ideal setting for popping the question. Just in case that’s something you’re up for right now 💍

Have a wonderful Valentine’s!
